If you decide to share your location information using GPS Link website it will be collected using the web browser's Geolocation API and device location services. Location data is collected every 3 seconds and usually is precise for up to 50 meters, but can be as precise as a few meters. Collected location data is transferred to the GPS Link website servers.
If you decide to share your location with other people using a GPS Link application or GPS Link extension or GPS Link website you need to provide your name or nickname and access to your device location. Same is true when you share location between devices you own.
Information you provided to us directly is not shared with 3rd parties unless you create a location sharing link. Location sharing link is unique and contains a secret that cannot be guessed by 3rd parties in reasonable time. If you have a shared location sharing link with a 3rd party they will be able to see your name and your device location on the map, this information can be accessed while one of the GPS Link applications is sharing location data to GPS Link website.
There are two type location sharing link types:
https://gpslink.azurewebsites.net/source.html - used by GPS Link extension to connect to GPS Link application and get location data from device where GPS Link application operates.
https://gpslink.azurewebsites.net/party.html - used by GPS Link website to display person location and name on the map.
To prevent unintentional sharing of your location data with 3rd parties do not open any link from an unknown source using GPS Link application nor open any links from unknown source in your web browser that start with https://gpslink.azurewebsites.net/party.html.
When you activate location sharing in the GPS Link application there is an indicator that shows that your location data is currently transferred to the GPS Link website. Indicator in the GPS Link application is displayed as ongoing notification in Android notifications. Notification allows you to stop location sharing by clicking "Stop service" in notification actions.
When you activate location sharing in the GPS Link website there is an indicator that shows that your location data is currently transferred to the GPS Link website. Indicator in the GPS Link website is displayed as a "Leave" blue button in the central-bottom part of the page. To stop location sharing click the "Leave" button or close the browser tab.
When you activate the GPS Link extension on 3rd party websites like www.openstreetmap.org that use HTML5 Geolocation API your location data can be accessed by this 3rd party website. This privacy policy does not cover your location data processing by 3rd party websites. Please do not use the GPS Link extension on websites you do not trust. Please review the privacy policy of the 3rd party website before using the GPS Link extension to share your location data with this website.
To revoke access please delete GPS Link application and GPS Link extension.
